I admit, if there's something I'm really addicted about, it's definitely caffeine and I'm starting to feel like I can't live without it.
Just last month I decided to quit or cut back slowly my caffeine intake and replace it with pineapple juice instead (I can usually consume 5 to 6 MUGS a day) I'm trying my best and I think I'm doing pretty good. Now I can actually consume 3 MUGS a day. It's not easy but at least there's an improvement.
A gradual breaking of the habit is much more effective and not nearly as painful, so I would not definitely advise anyone to give up caffeine just like that because it isn't necessary actually, you just have to know when you had enough for the day.
And for me .. 3 mugs is quiet enough.
And just when I'm about to give up this addiction Yahoo! has been good enough to have an article in line with this. The tittle? 5 health reasons to not quit coffee. hehe.. this one is worth posting in a blog. Read.
1. It protects your heart: Moderate coffee drinkers (1 to 3 cups/day) have lower rates of stroke than non coffee drinkers, an effect linked to coffee’s antioxidants.
I say: I knew it! hehe
2. It diverts diabetes: People who drink 4 or more cups of coffee each day may have a lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes, according to some studies.
I say: Okay,so from 3, I have now an excuse to make it 4. hehe..
3. Your liver loves it: One analysis of nine studies found that every 2-cup increase in daily coffee intake reduced liver cancer risk by 43 percent.
I say: 43 percent for every 2-cup? sounds good! hehe..
4. It boosts your brain power: Drinking between 1 and 5 cups a day (admittedly a big range) may help reduce risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, as well as Parkinson’s disease, studies suggest.
I say: Wohoo! more coffee for this !!!
5. It helps your headaches: And not just the withdrawal headaches caused by skipping your daily dose of caffeine! Studies show that 200 milligrams of caffeine—about the amount in 16 ounces of brewed coffee—provides relief from headaches, including migraines.
I say: This is soo true! Skipping my daily dose of caffeine is giving me terrible headache!
There you go.
Five reasons.
Now I have five reasons and that also means Five MUGS. Hehehe.
| How I like my coffee? Black.Iced cold and foamy. Best with chocolate, hard boiled egg and PUREFOODS cornbeef. |
